Here is a video explaining

Climb Youngstown’s planned timeline for this pause during the transition.

ASCEND Youngstown Becomes Climb Youngstown

The Transition Plan

In the weeks since we announced the impending closure of ASCEND Youngstown, an excited, local group of climbers has stepped up and they will be taking over ownership and operations of the facility on April 1, 2024.

The time has come for us to make the transition from ASCEND to Climb Youngstown. Over the past month, we’ve been working hard to line things up and make this as smooth a process as possible. Effective April 1, 2024, here’s what you can expect.

A SHORT PAUSE: The new founders of Climb Youngstown are working hard to complete this ownership transition as quickly and seamlessly as possible. However, they will need a few more days to tie things up on their end before they can officially open the doors. Right now, it is expected that they WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY, APRIL 1 AND TUESDAY APRIL 2. They are doing everything in their power to be open Wednesday, April 3 and STILL HOLD Y-TEAM WEDNESDAY EVENING. If this changes for any reason they will let you know as soon as possible. This is not what they wanted, but it’s what’s needed and they appreciate your patience and grace as they make this transition. Feel free to reach out to [email protected] or you can call the gym (330.330.8788) Saturday or Sunday or you can call Courtney (234.254.3867) during hours the gym is closed.

CUSTOMER RECORDS: All ASCEND Youngstown customer profiles will be duplicated and imported to Climb Youngstown. Both companies use Approach, so this process should be relatively simple. This means that both companies will have a record for customers who first visited ASCEND via the Youngstown location, maintain their membership from the Youngstown location, or have passes purchased from the Youngstown location. That being said, assets associated with a customer record, such as memberships, passes, and gift cards, will be separated and only attributed to one company’s record. See below for more information.

MEMBERSHIPS: No price change to memberships will occur. All current Memberships that are billed from ASCEND Youngstown will remain active, but now with Climb Youngstown, instead of ASCEND. You do not need to take any action, unless you’d like to cancel your membership and not be billed on April 1 (billing will not go through on April 1, should process no later than April 5)

PASSES: All passes (Day Passes / Punch Passes) that are on your account will remain valid and may be used at Climb Youngstown in the future. Those passes may NOT be used at ASCEND locations.

GIFT CARDS: Any Gift Cards will NOT be able to be used at Climb Youngstown, and may only be redeemed at ASCEND locations. The gift cards will remain intact on your ASCEND account.

We thank you for your patience and understanding while we make this transition. If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected].
